How can I check my Emirates ID online?

Tracking your application

Click the "NICOP / POC Tracking" link on this website and use 10 digit Application Tracking ID printed on top right corner of your receipt received from NADRA office. You can also call NADRA Call* Centre Islamabad directly at +92 51 111 786 100 to check the status of your application.

How long does the Emirates ID application take to process? The Emirates ID is usually issued within seven to ten days of the visa stamping in your passport. The Emirates ID costs 100 AED per year of validity.

For UAE nationals, the validity period of the Emirates ID is for 5 or 10 years. For GCC nationals residing in the UAE, the validity period is for 5 years. For other expatriates, the validity period depends upon their residency visa validity.

This suspension is due to the ICA's current process of transitioning to issuing a newer version of the Emirates ID. However, until the new IDs are issued, residents are still able to download an electronic version of the Emirates ID via the ICA UAE Smart app.

Permission to live in the UAE

Note that after the Emirates ID expires, the ID holder must apply for its renewal. Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) will send you a notification via SMS requesting you to renew your ID card.

What happens if you don't renew your Emirates ID?

In case you do not submit the Emirates ID details, your Debit Card, Credit Card with Emirates NBD and Mobile/Online access will be temporarily blocked till Emirates ID details are updated with the bank records.

Visa processing time is approximately 3 to 4 working days. Entry into the UAE is subject to immigration approval. All visas are valid to enter Dubai for 60 days from the date of issue, except the 96‑hour and 48‑hour visas, which are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.

Smart gates

If you're a UAE citizen or resident, you can use your passport, boarding pass, or just your UAE ID.

You will need to pay the regular stated fees plus an “urgent service” fee to obtain your Emirates ID within 24 hours. According to the ICP website, it costs expat residents Dhs100 per year, Dhs50 as a service fee, Dhs30 as a typing centre fee and an extra Dhs150 for the urgent service.

The first is through the ICA UAE Smart app, which can be downloaded free from the Apple and Android stores. Once you have logged into the app, click on the Emirates ID button on the home screen. That will show you an exact copy of how the new card looks, if the new-style card has been issued.
